Location: Potts Point // Cuisine: modern Italian
Concoct your appetite with a decadent and elaborate presentation of Italian cuisine in cosy ambience. Starting with the duck liver parfait, the creamy spread had a vinegary zing, plus on homemade sourdough was simply mouthwatering with every bite.
Sear into the kingfish; I find myself ordering this starter quite often so I really look for the freshness and subtle garnishes to complement. In this case, I found the kingfish a little too overcooked for my liking but the varying textures brought out its taste. Twirl into another extravagant entree, the nettle spaghettini, which was full of flavour and textures but it did leave a dry-ish residue in my mouth.
Warm up with the beef cheek main dish, a simple concept executed really well as the meat was quite juicy and tender. Finally, polish off with an extremely unique beetroot dessert; I believe this is one for unique palates as it has quite an intensity of beetroot and the sponge cake really plays with your mind a little.
